more than 125 community members and supporters gather for the Megan for 45th Ward campaign kickoff event at Galvin's Public House on Tuesday, Septemeber 28th.

And we're off! Thank you to all who supported and attended the campaign kickoff event!

Over 130 community members and supporters gathered on Tuesday, September 28th at Galvin's Public House for the hugely successful campaign kickoff event where Megan Mathias announced her run for Alderman of the 45th ward of Chicago, more than one year ahead of elections.

If I am honored to serve as your alderperson of the 45th ward, I have one very simple promise to make you- to every single resident of the ward. My office will be committed to helping everyone, with no exceptions. Whether you vote for me or not. Whether you support me, or you criticize me, or you’ve knocked doors for a political opponent. None of that matters. Even if you don’t like me… We have a wonderful community with diverse opinions. Once elected, I will represent everyone.

We heard from 5 speakers with different backgrounds and

a common bond of support of the 45th ward and Megan:

10+ year 45th ward resident and mother of three, Catherine King,

former principal of Belding Elementary School, Heather Yutzy,

Neighbor, Carlos Ramirez whose family has been in the ward for almost 20 years,

Saint John's Episcopal Church's Reverend Kara Wagner Sherer,

and fellow attorney, friend, and advocate, Jennifer Nichols.
